Name: Quinn Rendón

Height: 6'2

Body type: lean, toned athletic

Personality:
Calm|Patience|Understanding|Observent|Hard working|Awkward|Shy|A Bit Clueless

Quinn is kind of soft spoken guy, it rare to hear him yell or even speak loudly for that matter. He is very calm and easy going, never one to ruffle any feathers if he can help it. In fact, he would probably be happy just spending his life as a wall flower for the most part. To those who can get close enough to call him a friend will learn he is a very good listener and understanding of other peoples problems, and may even give them advice it he believes it is something that will help them. Quinn is also a very hard working individual, pretty much to a fault. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his projects and can even get bit OCD about them. If he ever spots a broken board or is forced to leave a project before he is able to finish it, it will gnaw at him and drive him nuts until he can go back and fix/ finish it. Though Quinn's biggest faults would have to be his social skills. He is the biggest ball of shy, awkward fluff you will ever meet. He really doesn't know how to have fun or interact with anyone in the normal sense, and to top it off he is a bit clueless to a lot of the social norms. He is not anti-social, he just never learned how to properly interact with society.

(This is just a clarification, just because he doesn't like to stand out or draw attention to himself does not mean he will let someone get away with abusing him or someone else. He really hates that and will find some way to stop it.)

History:

What is history anyway? Your life? Your heritage? If it was the later then Quincy would tell you he has no history.
Abandon, nameless, at an orphanage; Quincy never knew his family or anything about where he came from. All he knew was the orphanage, and that was not something to brag about... The orphanage's caretakers cared nothing for the poor children that resided within it's walls. Denying them food, beating them for asking questions, and worst of all using them as free labor and renting them out like slaves. No child was spared this horror, not even the nameless little Sentret that the caretakers soon gave the name Quincy or the fifth child. The fifth oldest. The fifth mouth to 'feed'. The fifth brat they could use for their own bidding.

The only silver lining for young Quincy was that their 'guardians' never rented the poor boy out for more... shadier jobs. Though that is not to say the jobs he was given were exactly a walk in the park either. They were backbreaking difficult manual labor and any children that wasn't able make their wages were quickly beaten before being forced to go without what little food they were given to eat. All the children quickly learned that if they wanted to survive, they would have to steal what they needed... Though even that carried it's own risks. Any child caught by the caretakers were beaten badly and, if they were even more unfortunate, sold to slavers.

Now give anyone enough time with that kind of treatment and there are bound to be a few with enough courage to try and escape it, and indeed there were. A small group, Quincy included, had indeed had enough of the abuse and decided to take a chance and escape. The children waited patiently for a window of opportunity for their is escape, and finally it did, in the form of their horrid caretakers' getting drunk off their rockers one night after spending the children's earnings. Sadly, like all plans, their escape didn't go perfectly... One of the caretakers had chosen not to take part in the drinking festivities and noticed the children's escape; it didn't take long for him to give chase, a gun in hand. In a mix of bullets, shouts and confusion, Quincy was separated from the other children but that didn't stop him. He ran, and ran, never once looking back in fear that one of his former captors would be there; hot on his heals.

Finally after days of running without end, the young boy couldn't take the fatigue any longer and collapsed in a forest, far away from where he first began. It was there in that forest that luck finally began to smile down on the young Sentret. By chance, a couple of wood masons found the poor little Sentret while on their way back from a mill and, taking pity on the poor boy, took him with them back to their workshop. It was there that Quincy told them all about what happened to him at the orphanage before begged them, in tears, not to send him back to that horrid place. The masons decided to do one better then keep him safe from his old captors, and took him in as one of their own. They began to train him in their craft as well as teach him the basic skills he would need to succeed in the world such as reading, writing and counting. Under this new life, Quincy decide that he needed a new name to reflect his new chance. 'Quinn' was the name he chose, a name with a worthwhile meaning but still allowed him remember the former life and all that he had learned there. After all, pretending it never happened wouldn't make the scars go away...

The new name allowed him a fresh start and in his new life he lived happily with the other masons. For years, learning from them, joining there rag tag family and becoming one of them, his old life nearly forgotten. That is until one day, his old life found him again...

    How did you come aboard?:

One day while on a job in another city, Quinn heard someone call out to him using his old name. He was shocked to find that not only had someone somehow recognized him but it was one of the former children he knew back at the orphanage, one of the few who had tried to escape that fateful night. Apparently Quinn was not the only one who had managed to get away that night so long ago, a few others in the party had managed also escaped ... the rest were not so lucky. His old comrade told him that the others who had escaped had banned together and managed to survive and even had managed to have lives of their own but none of them had forgotten the orphanage and what had taken place there... and as it would seemed ...was still happening there. The old group had decided to launch a raid on their old prison, to free the one's still trapped there and find the proof to lock their old caretakers away for good. The Furret wasn't sure he wanted to be part of such a plain, after all it carried a lot of risk and the mason's had given him so much... He didn't want to throw it all away... Sadly, he reluctantly agreed after his old partner reminded him of everything that had happened to them as kids and how their were others suffering right now in the same ways there. No one deserved to go through what they had ton through...

On the last night before the plan was put into action, Quinn sent a letter to the other masons to tell them the truth of the story should anything go wrong. He couldn't stand the thought of his surrogate family believing that he had thrown away what they had given him if a false story reached their ears. After the letter was sent, the plan was set in motion. The group were meant to sneak inside, free the kids, tide up the caretakers and get proof of the jobs the kids were forced to do, but once again, like so many years ago, things didn't go as planed... Somehow one of the candles in orphanage was knocked over and a fire began to take hold of the orphanage. Luckily, all where able to get out in time, unluckily some of the town's guards spotted the blaze and came rushing on to the scene. Quinn seemed doubly unlucky that night as when he was running away from scene, one of the caretakers escaped and falsely told the guards that he was a thief that had stolen from them and set the orphanage on fire. It didn't help Quinn's case that he had a bag of his tools with him making the caretaker's story seem true.

The guards chased poor Quinn all through the city until finally they had reached the docks. Luck finally seemed to be on the Furret's side once more when he spotted an unguarded ship. It didn't take the Furret long to race up the gang plank before the guards could see him, and down into the ship's haul, not wanting to take any risks of them finding him. Only when he had his back pressed against the wall's of the ship's cargo bay did he allow himself to relax a bit. After catching his breath and looking around his bidding place, he began to noticed that some parts of the ship were in really bad shape, like it had taken on damage in the past. Maybe they were attacked by raiders or something? As he looked at the damage, Quinn began to get an idea. He would fix up what he could while he waited for the guards to pass, as a way of thanking the unknowing captain of this ship for concealing him. Then after a little search to find some supplies, he got to work but little did he know that he wasn't alone in the haul...

It wasn't until the Furret felt the cold metal of a dagger pressed against his neck and heard a woman's voice demand to know what he was doing on her ship did Quinn notice the stealthy espeon captain. Quickly, and not without a little panic in his voice, he apologized and explained all the events leading up to how he got on her ship. The orphanage and what they did, how he and the other former members had tried to free the those left there, the fire, the chase, how he wanted to fix up her ship a bit to thank her without her knowing, everything.  After hearing him out, the Espeon looked over the repairs he had done and smirked before asking how he knew how to do such. Quinn briefly told her about the Masons and how they had trained him before letting him join them. Then, much to his surprise, the Espeon pulled away from him, the smirk still on her face.  She introduced herself as Rayne the captain of the ship and exactly what kind of ship this was. She also told him she was impressed by his work as well as being very being quick on his feet against the cities guards. Deciding  to be generous, she offer him a spot on her crew as a reward for doing such a good job on the repairs, telling him she was in need of a good Carpenter. Thinking over the offer, Quinn accepted figuring not only would it be a safer place then on shore to hide from the city guards and any of the former orphanage caretakers who might have gotten away, but it would also be a good use of his skills. After all ships were always getting damaged in one way or another, it would be a good way to improve and get more experience.  Lastly....  He was still partially afraid Rayne would slit his throat if he said no.... Oh well, looks like he was joining the crew.

Likes:
- Books (seriously, he is a book worm)
- Plants (he thinks they are cool and thinks it is useful to know about them)
- Wood carving
- Building things
- Sour or tart foods
- Collecting things
- Listening to people tell stories

Dislikes:
- His "real" name
- His baby face
- Slave labor
- Abuse
- People thinking he is a kid
- Doing nothing. (seriously if he can't find a project, he will make one)
- People that try to pull him away from his projects (don't take him from his babies! QAQ)
- Stealing from an innocent person. (If they are jerks, he's okay with it)

Strengths:

     Deceptively Strong: Despite his naturally lean appearance, Quinn is actually pretty strong from his time working with the Masons. He can probably carry a full barrel or two with ease. Just don't expect him to be able lift more then that at once. ^^;

Flexible: Either given his Furret nature or something else, Quinn is extremely flexible to the point were he can fit into and out of spaces you would think impossible given his size. He is almost contortionist level.

Fast: He is fast and agile, so he's hard to catch. :/ He's a slippery little ferret.

Able to think on his feet: Quinn is cool headed and can think on his feet in combat

Neutral:

Workaholic: He is a workaholic so he will always do his best on what every project you give him but on the down side he doesn't know when to stop working. |D (Seriously he will work until he his either out of wood or passes out.)

Knowledgeable: Quinn is not an idiot but at the same time he isn't what you would call a genius either. The only formal 'schooling' he has ever received was from the masons other then that everything else he learned from reading books. He has a lot of knowledge about several different things however he may not have the skills to actually use them. (Example: He may know about surgical procedures and what they do from a book but he is by no means a surgeon and would not be able to put that knowledge to use. Something like knowing what plants are poisonous vs what ones you can eat, he can do.)

Faults:

Can get distractedThat is to say if he is doing something and he sees something that appeals to him more he will drop what he is doing and do that instead. (Like if he is moving supplies around the ship and then notices that there is a hole in the wall. He will drop the supplies and go work on the wall.)

He is REALLY shy: Seriously, he is not good with people he doesn't know and even worse if someone (no matter what gender) ties to flirt with him. He tends to freeze or hide if someone flirts with him.

Not good with women: Despite being heterosextual, Quinn is really bad with women. He has no clue on how to deal with or even talk to them, unless it is business related.

Not formally trained in fighting or thievery:  Quinn can fight but it amounts to little more then street fighting. He has never been formally trained to fight or use most weapons. He doesn't know how to use a gun nor properly a sword, the only weapons he knows are his daggers. On top of that, Quinn thievery skills are pretty basic. He can pickpocket, pick locks and can trick people, but that's about it. He can't do any fancy rooftop parkor or anything more advanced.

Moveset:
- Quick attack
- Sucker Punch
- Trick
- Strength

Extras:
- Is ambidextrous
- Can swim
- Is able to read, write and count
- Can draw but only blueprints and stuff like that. He can't draw people well.
- Is a decent cook.
- Is a bit of a packrat. ^^; So watch where you step around his bunk.
- He is pretty honest/ blunt (When you can get him to talk)
- Has an eyebrow piercing but it is covered by his hair (right side of face)
- Has a habit of hiding his face with his hair or tail when he gets nervous.
- His tail fluffs out whenever he is scared, nervous or embarrassed.
- His tail is super fluffy, you could use it for a pillow. (Quinn actually does use it as such if he falls asleep while working on a project)
- 'Quinn' was the name he chose for himself due it can mean either 'Counsel' or 'wise', which made him feel like he was important and actually worth something.
- His last name Rendón was given to him by the masons after they heard what he had been through. It means 'Brave'
- Has no problem with stealing, just not from innocent people. Stealing is an old habit of his form the orphanage that he never truly got rid of.
- He was a bit of a runt back when he was a kid
- He was roughly 11 (give or take) when he ran away
- Has a bad habit of hold nails in-between his lips when he is working. (So please don't try to sneak up on him :saddummy:)
- He doesn't drink often (Hang overs are bad for work =.=; ) but he is not a light weight when he does.
- The Masons actually did get Quinn's letter, and still think of him as one of them even though he is now with the pirates.
- He doesn't know this but most of the caretakers where actually captured and punished for their crimes. Though Quinn still has the 'thievery' charge on his wanted poster from what that one caretaker told the guards.
